I was sent for a routine brain mri and had it last Wednesday in a mobile mri van. When finished i asked the radiographer when I would get the results and he said 2/3 weeks. I know the techs who do it aren't able to diagnose but I am worried that as it was routine if anything bad showed up and the results were just put in the routine pile of paperwork then how would a doctor know to look at it more urgently i.e tumours etc. Does anyone have any knowledge about routine referrals?.

It will be a radiographer who will review your MRI. They are much better trained and experienced in this than doctors.

Yeah will just need to hope there's nothing sinister. Especially if they are looking at all the urgent scans first.

Surely my it will be a radiologist that will report on an MRI not a radiographer?
