Diarrhea post rotavirus vaccine

I'm wondering if anyone else has had terrible diarrhea after their baby had these drops? My wee one had the vaccine drops around 3 weeks ago and now for over a week I've had the worse diarrhea. Like I cannot hold it in and it's happening 4 or so times plus a day. Going to call GP but panicking as it's not looking like it is stopping and I'm worried it's something more sinister. Hoping it's linked to the vaccine he had and that I've maybe picked it up from his nappies as I'm aware it's live.

3 weeks later? Very unlikely it’s rotavirus. Also the chance of catching it from his nappies is minute, especially if you washed your hands after.

Probably another type of tummy bug. Are you vomiting? If it’s been going on for over a week it might be worth doing a stool sample for the GP.

Thanks for your reply . I've spoken to GP and to do a stool sample ... apparently
rotavirus can be picked up from their nappies for around a fortnight after the drops. My symptoms started less than a fortnight after he had them.

Yes this happened to my DS. The RV vaccination made him so so Ill for weeks after each dose. Alternating between sulphur stench nappies and diarrhoea, and clumps of red current jelly consistency blood. It was truly awful. I was very reluctant to take him for his second dose but my health visitor convinced me that RV was too dangerous not to vaccinate. But the exact same thing happened again for weeks and weeks. I later discovered they'd only introduced it as part of the child hood vaccinations in 2014. It's a live vaccine so can definitely make them Ill (as confirmed by GP)

@Notbluepeter she’s talking about her own diarrhoea, not her baby’s. I’m sorry your little one was unwell after the vaccine.

@Mumof4fife if you washed your hands properly the risk of rotavirus transmission from baby’s faeces is incredibly small. If the stool sample does show rotavirus make sure your hand hygiene is impeccable when he has his second dose!
