I've been bitten by something whilst gardening and was wondering if anyone knows what it may have been?

The bite is a red dot with redness around it and around that a white ring. I didn't even feel it happen and only noticed this morning.

No one will be able to tell you. I had a nasty reaction to a bite and the doctors didn’t have a clue what it could m have been. They did say spider bites generally have two puncture wounds, so I guess what got you probably wasn’t a spider.

"It was a beastie" is the standard answer here. Unless you see said beastie, or it's a horsefly (clegg) bite, you'll never know. Anti-histamine for any itch and I have an After Bite pen thingy which stinks but definitely helps.

Ok, thank you.

I've not had an insect bite before and wanted to check the white ring wasn't anything to be concerned about. Luckily it doesn't itch. I have a sore arm but that arm often is sore and achy so it could just be a coincidence.

That is just a normal 'wheal and flare' reaction to any insect bite.

It's a miracle you haven't been bitten before, some of us me are bug magnets.

Oh that's good to know.

I don't know how I've managed it. I feel thankful as a work colleague gets bitten almost daily and is always moaning about the bites.

Take some antihistamine and use some hydrocortisone cream on it. Looks like a big standard bite.
