I've always had pretty bad PMS and painful periods since a very young age. The GP prescribed me mefanmic acid for the pain during my period.

I also started taking evening primrose oil (3000mg a day) and magnesium Glycinate (200mg a day) which really helped. My periods have been regular, painful but manageable and my PMS symptoms were much more mild. This has been the case for 4/5 years now.

I was away from home recently for 5 days and didn't take the supplements. I got really painful breasts despite having just finished my period. I put it down to missing the supplements and started taking them again as soon as I could.

But it's now 2 weeks later and they're still really painful. Going up the stairs hurts, brushing them accidently when I'm reaching for something hurts, putting on my bra hurts.

Any ideas? I'm going to carry on taking the supplements and hope it goes away but I'm in agony and can't work out why missing a few days would have had this much of an impact?!

I stopped taking the EPO recently and I was surprised how quickly they became sore. It definitely helps.

Ah interesting that someone else has had a similar response - thank you for sharing!

I'm trying to ride it out, just super surprised that missing 5 days then getting back on it could still be having such an impact 15 days later.

It's amazing the impact a non-prescribed/herbal/supplement can have I guess!

Yes. I’ve seen it written on MN that EPO doesn’t work, but it definitely does !

God knows its definitely doing something here!
