2 week period

My DD 15 has what I’m assuming is her first period.

She’s been bleeding for 15 days and it’s showing no signs of stopping. It’s full of clots and at points it runs down her legs.

This isn’t normal is it?

She suffers with uti’s but a recent scan on her kidneys shows nothing unusual.

I’m going to try to get her an appointment with the doctors on Monday.
Has anyone else had this?

My DD had this, her periods were very erratic and prolonged. GP agreed to put her on the pill she was 15. The periods were just too difficult to manage esp at school. She got iron supplements too. GP might say wait and see for a few months, but they will prescribe something to reduce the blood flow hopefully. Don't be fobbed off though and ask for the pill if it continues. No point putting the girl through misery if she doesn't need to be.
