Does anything help bunions except surgery

Just that really. My bunion hurts, no shoes fit, but I can't face weeks off work.

I haven't really found a solution. Except wider shoes

I've seen dramatic improvements in bunions in people who've switched to barefoot shoes and strengthen their feet, sometimes using toe correctors. Katy Bowman's book Whole Body Barefoot is a good place to start.

The vast majority of wide fit shoes are bunion shaped, so at the very least you need to switch to shoes that don't pull your toes in.

Barefoot/foot-shaped shoes definitely. There are lots of FB groups where people discuss different brands etc. and also lots of barefoot shoe bloggers and Instagram accounts.

Most of the shoe brands are not UK based, Happy Little Soles is a good online shop to buy many brands here though.

The problem is that wide fitting shoes tend to be wide all over so won't fit the rest of my foot.
Thanks to those who posted about barefoot shoes. My GP told me I should have a low heel at least to protect my feet.

My issue is that my feet are already really wide so even widest ones don't fit
