Blood in my urine - terrified

found blood in my urine for the first time, it was streaks of fresh pink/ red. Have recently had a baby and become a mum for the first time, now really worried that I might have cancer and there might be something seriously wrong. Blood in urine is bladder cancer for one in five.

I’ve got to ring my GP for an urgent appointment tomorrow morning. Feeling absolutely terrified.

has anyone else any experience of this?

My dad had that.. was a tiny kidney stone that dissolved on its own.. always best to get checked over though. Uti can give blood in the urine too. I hope you're ok Flowers

I'm glad my GP didn't dismiss my symptoms, I'd never have discovered my bladder cancer otherwise. Oddly the haematuria has stopped though, so even more grateful that I had the cytoscopy otherwise I'd have just assumed it was one of those odd things and wouldn't have bothered doing anything about it

So the blood in the urine is back. This time I'm only seeing it when I wipe after I pee and that's been for the last three/ four days but not every time.

@WakeyCakeyHeart I now feel a bit silly for letting the doctor dismiss it so quickly. I've got an appointment tomorrow. Any suggestions for what I should be asking for? How are you doing btw since your op?

Thanks so much.

I really wouldn't worry too much. I have this and paid privately to see a urologist who basically laughed me out of the door. He said it would be extremely rare for someone like me to get it (woman in her forties, non smoker, never worked with chemicals etc). I had the gold standard tests just to bottom it out (cystoscopy and bladder/kidney scan), all came back normal. I still have it now and it's normal for me.

Mine is invisible though but I still don't think you have anything to be too concerned about. Push for a cystoscopy to be on the safe side. It's a simple procedure and you get the results immediately.

I had all the tests for this too, mine was only visible on dipstick
had bladder cystoscopy and kidney scan . All fine . But I still have it so not sure if they will scan me again or how it works
