Vitiligo HELP?

Hello,
So I started getting vitiligo in my teens, but it then stopped mid twenties. Now I've noticed lots of small spots and areas of it all over my hands. Is this the start of a spread?

Hello. It’s a frustrating thing isn’t it! So difficult to know if it’s just a few extra spots or it’s going to be even more. And so hard when it’s not really clear what tiggers it. I know I usually find a few more each year after a few days sun but I’m pretty pale most of the time and depending on your skin tone you may notice patches faster. The only pragmatic advice may be to focus on what you can control ……. lots of water, fresh air, some exercise and balanced diet and not to worry too much about the things you can’t. Being mindful, noting 3 good things every day also may help……. I know none of that stops the worry but small steps and hope some of it helps. X

@Happyplanting thank you for your message! I always avoid the run but have been it a little more of late bc i was told I had a vitamin d deficiency. So I upped my vitamin d supplement and didn't avoid the sun as much (I had skin cancer in 2009). I have been very stressed of late too. Although I've had years where I have been even more stressed!

One thing is that since having covid and/or from the vaccines (as a few consultants have said) I had long covid or whatever if it's the vaccine, and my immune system was low. I wonder if this could be an affect of that 🧐

I’m not a medic but the nhs does day that stress can trigger it. This is a bit of a heavy read but does report more vitiligo after COVID vaccines - but it could also just be coincidence ! Would love someone to find a way to stop or reverse it and have had very sad times with it but there are far worse things to suffer from. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8830139/
