I slipped in the shower about 10 weeks ago and banged my right knee really hard on the shower floor.
No bruising, no swelling, nothing to see but it was painful for several weeks.
Since then, I can't kneel on it and i f I bend it in a particular way, I get a strange sensation - it either feels like something small and sharp is stabbing me, or it feels as though I have a scab which is catching on clothing.
It's not stiff but it feels heavy, like it's inflamed.
The pains I've described are sporadic - every so often, I'll move my leg in a particular way and the sensation will suddenly shoot through my knee. The same happens if I touch my knee in a certain place. It's the sort of feeling that makes you feel weird - like nails down a blackboard - rather than really painful, if that makes sense.
I've put off calling the GP, thinking it will resolve itself, but after 10 weeks, it hasnt.
Any ideas?
