What is this itchy skin?

My husband has had this itchy skin on his legs for over 2 years. The dr said it was ringworm but we’ve done many treatments for that and it’s still here. Pic hopefully attached.

What is this itchy skin?

I don't know what it is but it looks nothing like ringworm! What treatments has he tried? After this length of time he needs to insist on a referral to a dermatologist.

We’ve tried prescription anti fungal creams and then over the counter anti fungals. He has patches on his other leg too. He had eczema as a child but it doesn’t look like that to me and doesn’t look flakey enough to be psoriasis.

I have that as well right in front of my shins. It’s not as bad as that but looks like could be same thing.
so fucking itchy it drives me mad sometimes when it flares up!
no idea what it is…

Get him tested for certain blood disorders which cause itchy skin.

Possibly scabies??

Best to get a referral for a skin consultant.
DH had a similar small and round itchy patch on his back.. no fungal creams worked. GP couldn't figure out exactly what it was. The consultant did a skin biopsy to rule out anything sinister. Finally it sorted out itself after a couple of years. Still don't know what exactly it was!

I use an emollient every day after I have a bath and sometimes before bed if it's been bad. It helps keep the skin hydrated and the itching eases.

At its worst it's easy to scratch until the skin breaks.

Thank you all. Funny that people have had the same and also don’t know what it is. I wonder if the shins are just prone to dry skin.
