Anyone get silent reflux?

The doctor thinks I have this - basically it feels like I have a golf ball stuck in my throat (not all the time thankfully) and most food just doesn't 'agree' with me these days.

And for a greedy bugger this is awful!

Doctor suggested over the counter medicine but they do nothing.

You can see another doctor.

Usually they give PPIs for a while and then you wean off them onto otc medicines.

Diet management is important.

You can also be referred for gastroscopy to see if there is any further problem.

Also physiotherapy can help

It can also affect vocal chords so it can be worth seeing a therapist if you sing or use your voice a lot.

I don't 'use' my voice but I do talk a lot. And yell a lot!

I had this feeling but it was to do with my thyroid, when I fall asleep I sometimes feel like I’m choking too.

Yes choking! I felt I was being throttles a few times. Bugger. My thyroid was a teeny bit on the under-active size last time I had a blood test and I did mention this when I saw the doc for my throat.

I've had 3 people in my family (only one a blood relative) with throat cancer so I was a little bit concerned).
