Scarlett Moffat Lonely

I’ve found it more interesting than I thought I would reading this story tonight.

she’s basically said that she had so much on paper going for herself, but she felt so desperately lonely, she rang the Samaritans.

This has really struck me, I sometimes feel like this. On paper no one would ever know because things seem so perfect. But the truth beneath a lot of the facade is loneliness. I have great friends, family etc, but I can’t say the relationship truth to them.

…So everything just carries on. But actually, it is lonely.

Anyone else ?

I think people like her who came from being an ordinary person and then thrown into the celeb world need protecting. Look at what happened to Caroline Flack.

I am probably on the other side; in that I found her annoying and not relatable generally at first. I would say we come from similar backgrounds but had different ways to deal with it, if that makes sense?

Which is probably why I am suddenly taking an interest in this. She is saying something so specific and true, which so many people dismiss because of the things on paper around them

Most people are ordinary people before they become famous 🤣

I think it's a common way to feel. We are more connected than ever due to social media but I think it also disconnects us as we have less real chats with people, seeing everyone else's perfect lives being played out makes it harder to be honest about struggles. I have always been a very social person, lots of friends, would chat for hours on phone or meet for coffee. The past 7/8 years I've found people are more inclined to send a text and everyone is always too busy to meet up. I've never felt more disconnected from the people around me as I do now.

She can always change things. She's young enough and it would seem bright enough to work that out for herself .
Money doesn't bring happiness.
Many before have done it. It's all written in the tabloids.
I hope Scarlett gets out of the stuff she can't deal with. I certainly hope so.

This is a great point, socials and group chats on what’s app make us feel like we are in touch and connected with people, when deep down the truth is we are not

I think it depends on how you find fame, or whether or not you have been adequately prepared for it.
