Static Black Dots in Vision on Waking

Hello
I'm 51 and over the past few months have woken to see a group of tiny black dots in the centre of my vision of one eye (my other eye is blind). They aren't floaters (I have those!) and they stay for about 3 or 4 seconds before they disappear.

This is first thing in the morning and the centre of my vision sort of 'fizzes'. Could this be an age thing with my eye struggling to adapt to the dim light. The only other symptom I have is sometimes if I go from a dim room to a bright room I get a few sparkles in the middle of my vision for a second or two.

@whizabelle Get it seen to ASAP. What warning signs did you get before the blindness in the other eye?
Have you seen anyone about it?
