Broken Foot

So I broke my foot yesterday the Fifth metatarsal. I am in agony. I cannot put any weight on the foot whatsoever. I’ve been given a boot and some crutches the boot is causing more pain.

Has anyone else been in the situation.? Please tell me it gets better soon.

If you have had this how long does it take for you to be walking normally again.

I I am my mum’s carer and also have a seven-year-old to look after.

My husband is doing his best but I seriously need to be back on my feet soon. At the moment I’m confined to my bedroom and struggling to get to the loo.

I did the same two years ago but walked around on it for four days before going to A&E. it was painful but manageable and I took the boot off when resting. I was walking around and back at work n a week. TBH I still get twinges from the torn ligaments but don’t know if that is more down to age - 55.

Should add, wore the boot when outside walking for 6 weeks.

I fracturerd the fifth met a year ago. I had a boot. I iced it and after a few days when swelling had gone down it was much less painful. Hope you feel better soon
