He's had a bad cough since last night and after coughing so much in bed last night, made himself very sick.
He's now had a temperature since lunchtime today(around 38),so I have stripped him down to just a short sleeved vest. He's had Calpol,Neurofen and Tixylix for the cough but still has a high temperature and is constantly coughing.
Just wondered how else I can try and get his temperature down and whether there is anything else I can do for the cough.I've put a rolled up towel under his mattress and have a couple of phone directories underneath the top end of the cot.
Also have one of those Karvol plug in's on in his room to see if that helps.
Any other ideas please?
Thanks.

My DS had this over Crimbo and it turned into CROUP (cogh sounds like a dog barking and breathing is raspy) he ended up being rushed into hosp. as he couldn't breathe. Was very scary but he is on the mend now. Still has cough and cold but not like it was, thank god!

We at first, when he had temp and cough gave him tepid baths, plenty of fluids and tipped up his cot too. We have had karvol plug ins for DD, not sure whether they really make a dif tho.

Keep an eye on his cough and I hope he gets better soon, horrid when little ones are ill.

Thanks.I did wonder if it was Croup. He had the bad cough a couple of weeks ago and one night it was so bad it really scared me that he was struggling to breathe and I was very close to ringing 999.Luckily after a cuddle and bottle he went back to bed and it subsided.Does sound like a similar cough but like most coughs,it's much worse at night.
