Kidney infection - Handhold please

Just some advice or a handhold really - the whole thing is making me super anxious which I know won’t help.

started symptoms of uti a week ago, given oral antibiotics (cefalexin) due to previous issues with utis going to my kidneys quickly. Felt a bit ropey all week but had covid a few weeks ago also so thought I was still recovering.
Friday evening, flank pain, stomach pain, high temp of 39+. Went to bed early hoping I’d wake up feeling brighter. Sat morning still the same so saw OOH who sent me to hospital where i was diagnosed with kidney infection and concern for abscess on my kidney.

2 rounds of IV antibiotics, copious amounts of IV fluids. Hospital was chaos, no beds so spent the 36 hours there on a trolley, elderly man opposite me was very poorly and his behaviour was really inappropriate without going into too much detail, I was desperate to come home. Due to craziness in hospital, scan not done and will be done as outpatient.

temp settled for last 12 hours in hospital so was discharged tonight with instructions of any worsening symptoms, call ambulatory care (although it is shut tomorrow as BH) and will be readmitted.

my temp is now back to 39.1 and I’m getting pain in my back. Do I call back up? Is this likely to settle down again or am I going to need more treatment?

I’ve got so much work to catch up on, I’ve been behind since being off with covid where my little one ended up being admitted to hospital a few weeks ago, and I’m just feeling really overwhelmed. I’ve only been back at work a couple of months following maternity and everything feels like it’s going wrong.

Sorry I’m advance for the long ramble, I’m just feeling really grotty and don’t want to wake DH unless essential because he’s exhausted too from the last few weeks. X

Can you call them for advice? I'm not really sure what to advise you myself but if it was me I would call again just for the reassurance/guidance on what you should do. I have kidney stones and was on this antibiotic a couple of weeks ago due to a uti. If it was me I would call again though x

If your temperature is rising and the pain is increasing that sounds exactly like worsening symptoms for which they said you should be readmitted.
Please put yourself first and wake your DH and call them up.

What are the curtent paim amd urinr symptoms as well as temp.is it rising
Ate you peeing properly? Fully flowing? There's a high likrlihood stines are csusung an obstruction making this mych worse. You need urgent imaging. Sounds like thr ab's havent worked (have they grown cultures for sensitivity amd treated according to thisr yet?) Ring the hospital or go to another one if there's one locslly of thetes a posdiblility if is less busy. Rinb the original one first and yell them worsening.

Dorty abput typing.om meds. Cant see!

Meant to say wakehubby up!

Can you call 111? Ours will get a dr to call you back although I suspect they'll tell you to be seen. I normally have ciprofloxacin, and have had a 111 dr send it to a pharmacy before without being seen.

If they told you to go back in though, that's what you need to do Flowers

Forget work. You've been properly unwell and worrying won't help. You've been admitted to hospital when they really don't want to so you probably need a week off already.
If your temperature is going up then ring the ward or 111.
