I think I hurt my neck on the train last week (Thursday). I was on the train in London but travelling overground at this point so not in a tunnel. The train had become so busy that the carriages were packed with people standing up (including myself). On my way home from work I never usually get a seat anyway but this day it was particularly busy. We were driving along at quite a speed, when suddenly the driver slams on the brakes and I go flying to the left and smashed into the side of the train. It did hurt my arm but I wasn’t injured or anything just a bit annoyed.
The next morning I woke up with neck pain and couldn’t move my head to the left. This has been the case since Friday morning and I’m still in just as much pain, it’s radiating around my left side of neck and shoulder. Paracetamol and ibuprofen help a bit so it’s not agonising but it’s getting to the point where I’m going to phone the GP to see if they can examine me.
Did I jolt it when I fell to the side or did it cause me to pull a muscle? 😠 I’m so annoyed that the driver didn’t even apologise or make an announcement to say why he suddenly did a near on emergency stop during a fast train ride. I am wondering if an animal ran out on the track and startled the driver. Who knows. I’m annoyed because I couldn’t get any time off work on Friday (not that there would have been any GP appointments left by that time), but I think they will be closed tomorrow for the bank holiday.
