Does this mole look concerning? (Photos)

I am 28 this mole appeared a few months ago on my lower back. I have just had a good look and it looks like it has 2 shades of colour and a bit of a strange border.

I don’t trust my GP he fobs everything off with its fine (plenty of times when it wasn’t) so have booked in with the boots mole check service for next week. Unsure if I can go to an OOH Gp with this??

does anyone know if this seems concerning? Im worried now I’ve had a good look.

No idea. You need an medical expert to look at it. The person at Boots will tell you.

The border is irregular so I’d get it checked out just to safe.

I couldn't say. See another gp

Change in size of lesion.
Irregular pigmentation.
Irregular border.
Inflammation.
Itch or altered sensation.
Larger than other lesions (diameter >7mm)
Oozing/crusting of lesion.

This is the 7 point checklist GPs use. You seem to have 2/3 and you will know if you have any others. Id get a 2nd opinion/referral. My parents had Basal cell carcinomas which are easily treated.

I've just had one checked on my face as I have horrible history with skin cancer, aggressive BCC resulting in four operations.

Apparently the mole I have now is a seborrhoeic keratosis which is apparently benign and not anything horrible.

I saw GP and had appointment at dermatology booked for two weeks later within half an hour of leaving his surgery.

I'd say definitely get checked. Good luck.

Thanks everyone I will get someone to check it. I’m really worried now

@CherryRipe1 how many of the 7 do they use before refferal or does it have to be any of the 7? My doctor is terrible have a feeling I will have to argue for it. I will go to boots in the mean time and at least they can give me something to show my doctors

I think if it's obviously either ragged, mosaic looking, crusty, oozy, bleeding etc so one or more. Have a look on the NHS website under moles. Don't stress too much, yours doesn't look bad and your GP not worried but get another opinion for peace of mind & safe side. I've had two removed and biopsied & was fine & both DDs, due to living in Australia. Good luck x
