Stomach ulcer or something else?

Arrived on holiday Monday (same country) and had dinner. Woke up around 2am with stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and loose stools. Figured touch of food poisoning but here we are Thursday night and I'm still unwell.

Stomach is extremely bloated, hard to touch. I've what feels like burning in the middle of upper stomach but I've been taking lansoprazole as well as Rennie. I've been taking paracetamol too and buscopan and nothing seems to be helping.

I have a video call tomorrow morning with online doctor (via our health insurance provider)

Heading home tomorrow from holidays and couldn't even pack the clothes earlier as pain and nausea had me running to toilet.

Has anyone had anything like this before? Looking for reassurance that this will pass soon and I'll feel better

Hi,

I’ve got similar. Monday it started with a painful abdomen sort of trapped wind, Tuesday had churning stomach all day then Tuesday evening I couldn’t get warm. Wednesday stomach churning, bloating, tended stomach, nausea but on and off then yesterday I started feeling a lot better the bloating went down too but now I’ve been up since 4am with a gnawing feeling in top of my stomach and now bloated again.

This sounds like food poisoning. Have other people come down with something similar?

I've just got over a nasty case of (self diagnosed) norovirus/gastroenteritis. Similar symptoms, as well as fever, bloating and lower abdominal cramps I had some quite horrific epigastric pain, especially on movement.

I ruled out food poisoning on account that we ate the same as a family the evening prior to symptoms starting. That and at least 50% of the patients I saw on my shifts before feeling unwell myself had noro....

It's taken nearly 2 weeks to be back to normal but I'm 3/4 stone down so every cloud!

Thanks all. Doctor gave me anti sickness tablets and they really made me feel so much better. She didn't think it was ulcer as the Lansoprazole would have helped that. No one else in the family was sick just me but thankfully on the mend now!
