Urgent referral

Hi there I went to the doctors a few weeks ago regarding a prolonged gynaecological problem and she requested an urgent scan (within two weeks) and it's been 3 and a half now and I still haven't heard anything I contacted the gp again and she said If i didn't hear anything by the end of the week to call back, I don't like to complain as I know the nhs is overwhelmed but the waiting is awful and really stressful has anyone else experienced this and did you hear anything soon?

If I were you I'd ring the radiology department of your hospital and ask if they can check. Is it a CT or USS?

All depends who you get on the phone some can be 'computer says no' unhelpful types but generally most will check on their system and see when you'll get an appointment.

Hope you find out soon, I agree waiting is really stressful .

I would definitely chase up. The waiting is horribly stressful, I totally understand. 💐

I saw the GP last Tuesday and they made an urgent two week referral. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow.

Yes chase up. I was referred on the 2 week gynae path 4 weeks ago and was seen 12 days later. The GP told me to chase if I hadn't heard anything within those 2 weeks. They should stick to the guidelines.

@Titsywoo chased it up, they had my address wrong how I don't know but called up the hospital and I have an appointment for the 11th grateful for the appointment but it will be nearly 5 weeks after It was sent off, and the waiting is horrible :/
