UTI- another sample requested

I had to do a urine sample for my gp yesterday after suspected UTI, I had a text from the gp this afternoon saying the lab has asked me to send another sample off and can I go in to do one. I'm freaking out a bit, probably unnecessarily, has anyone experienced this before?

our lab sometimes sends info that the sample is contaminated so needs another for the test to be repeated.

I've had this with my DC. It just means that the first sample was contaminated somehow.

Could it be that the previous sample was contaminated so they have to do another or maybe it was lost/misplaced. I've not had this happen before but I wouldn't panic. There's probably a reasonable explanation.

Thanks the message from the GP just said 'the lab has asked us to send another sample, could you come in sometime this week to provide a new sample' I guess they wouldn't go into too much detail over a text but it just made me panic

They lost it, your name wasn't on it, they sent it in in the wrong bottle, they didn't send it in at all.
