To think I’ve buggered up ?

So basically I went to the park after my run (around 11am) to do some pull-ups on the monkey bars. There’s like bars that go up and different levels of them (it’s hard to explain sorry). I jumped up, grabbed the bars and thrusted myself up and I ended up smacking the top of my head directly on the metal monkey bar behind me.

im not one to bitch about pain but I ended up swearing loudly as it took me by surprise…. Fled the park as well out of embarrassment Blush

It really hurt and the top of my head was sore. Since then it’s still sore, my head aches (not like a normal headache it’s just like a dull ache), my eyes feel the same. I feel a bit nauseous, lost my appetite (I’m hungry all the time as I work out, my mum calls me Billy the fat bunter so it’s odd that I’m not hungry). I used to have issues with booze and I have that feeling of drunkness right now.

kind regards

I think you should be checked out asap - sounds like you may have a concussion

Plutoisaplanet · 24/04/2022 15:13

If you are in the uk call 111 for advice

@Dora26 thanks Dora! Do you mean the GP?

Preferably A and E but GP will do

I would say you need to seek some medical advice as you may have concussion! The ache on its own - wouldn't be a concern. But the mention of feeling drunk and nauseous are a bit concerning.
The standard 'bump to the head' letter my kids come home from school with say seek medical advice with any of the following

  • headache
  • seeing double or blurred eyesight
  • vomiting more than once
  • unexpected drowsiness
  • any signs of blood or watery fluid from nose and/ or ears

Hope you're OK but best to be safe than sorry

ohidoliketobe · 24/04/2022 15:16

I'd do 111 or same day walk in centre if you have one nearby you can get to without driving yourself

TonyBlairsLover · 24/04/2022 15:17

@ohidoliketobe Thank you, I’ll ring 111

It is likely just a concussion but you could have done something more serious soni would call 111 or head to your local a&e
