Sometimes, particularly when I’m tired, I get excruciating, fleeting stabbing pains in the side of my head / ear. They only last a few seconds, and are intermittent, but really disconcerting - they make me wince. According to Dr Google these are rarely a sign of anything serious but has anyone had experience of these?

My DD gets them was monthly last year just before her period.she’d get a few and then a migraine .. vomiting, bright light hurting her eyes. I took her to the Drs and said they were ice pick headache followed by migraine. He said to get her to the opticians and they were happy with her. this year she’s only had 2 episodes and uses migraine cool gel pads which are brilliant.

might be worth going to the opticians and your Drs just to get checked out

I get them from time to time. Generally I think they're a sign that I'm fighting off a cold/ virus.
Paracetamol usually eases them but I have been kept awake before now
