Invisalign help!

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of getting Invisalign as my teeth have moved since having braces as a child.
I'm conscious, because I live in London, that I'll be paying more than say getting it done from where I'm originally from (Chester).
Is this likely to happen? I'm not sure how it works. Did anyone get quoted differently at different dentists?

Also, has anyone had it done and would recommend it and how long did it take for you to notice results?

Thanks

X

Hey @Noname91!

I would love to help! I think you are right most dentists do seem to charge differently but not really sure why. I just moved to outside Manchester but I have had a consultation at a practice in Harrogate who have provided me with an excellent quote for Invisalign. I did some research before I went and it seems most dental practices charge £3800-£4500. This practice quoted £2495 for a package that includes everything and teeth whitening as well!
I am about to start the treatment the dentist said I could start to see the results after 3 months and my treatment will take around 6 months to complete. At the consultation I had a scan and got to see how my smile could look which helps gives an idea of what the results might look like. A lot of my friends have had it done and really recommend it, they said it takes a bit of time to get used to it wearing the aligners but the result is worth it. Hope this helps! Any other questions I will try my best to answer x

My son has invisalign - flipping marvellous! His crooked wonky teeth have become lovely and straight, over 18months. It has been a real transformation. At 3k (London) it was pricey, but worth it. He was very diligent about wearing the aligners. You can see them, they are not really invisable. You see the attachments, however not as noticeable as the metal 'train-tracks'. Once treatment is over you have to wear a retainer at night to prevent teeth moving back (retainer replacement cost 250quid, and I think realistically to factor in a couple of breakages over a lifetime)
I was so impressed with invisalign with my son, I investigated getting it myself to correct a tooth crookness I have in my upper bite (not bad but just something I am conscious of). I had the initial scans and they poked and prodded and came up with a treatment plan. However I did not go through with it, as they did highlight the risk, ie. there is a chance that moving a tooth may damage the root and subsequently cause worse problems and possible tooth loss. I decided this risk wasn't worth it to me, given the cost and that really i was only after perfection having seen it with my son.
I think there is a UK version of invisalign which is slightly cheaper. Think this is 'spark'.
(the quote was the same for me at my sons dentist and at my dentist).

Had/ have Invisalign lite .. started March last year and despite thinking I’d be done in 6 months im
still having more refining trays. Make sure u research different types of Invisalign- full, life ,go and what the dentist offers. Basically any dentist can register and offer Invisalign go but that’s only on front 8teeth and they won’t have that much experience. I choose a orthodontist and checked that they were listed with Invisalign and to be honest my “ fully straightforward “ case as quoted by the initial dentist offering Invisalign go only had turned out to be a year process and I am so so glad I had an orthodontist overseeing this .
u can notice the trays in the mouth in my opinion but that depends on where the attachments are placed- especially if at the front. Also depending if u have an iver or underbite u might have to use elastic bands- I wasn’t prepared for that so was a shock !! But over all I’m so happy Iv done it, my teeth look brilliant!! Cost 3200
