I have a dark patch on my lip that I’ve had a while (year or so maybe) but I feel like it’s becoming more noticeable and you can see it through lipstick. Is it a mole? I’ve had no trauma to my lip. Would this warrant a GP check up?

Get it checked, it's never wrong to get moles checked out.

Get it checked. Probably nothing serious but always worth while having moles looked at.

Just to reassure you, I had something very similar. I went to my GP who took a photo and within a couple of days I had a very quick procedure to have it removed. Had a few stitches but it's totally all clear now. Try not to worry but I would advise you to go and see your GP.

I have one, got it checked and they just said it was a new freckle. Worth the check though

Thanks all. I’ll book a GP appt tomorrow.

@grendello how long did it take to heal? Did they test it?

It was about 5 years but from memory it took about a month for the scar to be completely invisible. They did test it. The procedure took about 30 minutes and it was a bit like going to the dentist. I'm quite sure you'll be fine.

Thanks @Grendello glad it was a good outcome for you

Hello i have a dark patch on my upper lip and am thinking of removing it, but im afraid that it would cause a scar. May i ask if there would be a scar, and what is the best method to remove it without leaving scars and without it growing back? Thanks!
