I had a surgery with a stent fitted in my kidney on Wednesday last week, I have been taking oxybutynin and codeine because I can't cope without. But now I haven't been able to go for a poo since Tuesday; it's stuck in my bum, I have tried Vaseline, glycerin suppository and dulcoease, the pain and struggle and just general uncomfortableness is so bad I have the shakes, I've been on the toilet for almost an hour and it's making me feel sick. What else can I do?!

Ah that sounds horrible op. How long are you on the the codeine for? Can you bear to reduce it? Or can you ask for a laxative to go with. GA and pain killers can really stop everything up for a week

Could you do a bath for yourself? Nice and warm, relaxes you. Then you'll hopefully feel the urge and you can get it out. It has worked for me in the past.

I reduced it yesterday, the codeine I'll be taking until the second part of my surgery in another 3 weeks, but I might have to reduce it further which isn't ideal because the stent gives me really painful spasms :(
I'm running a warm bath now, hopefully it will help! I'll ask for a laxative to go with it when the doctors opens back up on Tuesday I think. Thank you, I know it isn't a pleasant issue!
