R-CPD aka can’t burp

Discovered this is a thing while desperately googling last night. DD has never been able to burp and when she gets hiccups, they’re really painful. I hadn’t realised how uncomfortable this could be until yesterday, when we were on a long train journey after a big meal. She was in agony.

When we got off and she could stretch properly, she managed to fart and that gave her some relief, but still a lot of upper abdomen and back pain.

She ticks all the symptoms for R-CPD, but the idea of Botox in the oesophagus seems drastic - and expensive as it seems this condition isn’t recognised by the NHS.

I wondered if anyone had had any success in relieving this at all?
