Samsung watch 4 oxygen levels

Does anyone else check their oxygen levels after sleeping wearing Samsung watch 4? I've looked at mine and they are v odd...says they're under 90% for nearly 10 mins some nights and even went as low as 79%. I went to doc who sent me for chest x Ray and ecg...both fine. Am presuming readings must be wrong...but wondered what anyone else has had...

At 79 you'd be incredibly ill...definitely not accurate.

If you want to monitor your oxygen levels you can buy an oximeter on amazon for about £15 (the proper type that goes on the end of your finger).

My fitbit reads my O2 levels but they never match my pulseox (or the ambulance pulseox) readings; it always reads low. I wouldn’t trust it for a minute.

Yes...that's what I thought! Will ignore them. Googling says Samsung 4 is quite accurate +/-2%...but clearly not. Thank you!

I've just looked, I had a reading of 74% on Thursday night, 82% last night. I've never paid attention to it, assumed it was only for a few seconds or so.

Mine said I was under 90% for 18 minutes last night...lowest was 82%...simply can't be right. Quite glad it isn't just me @vivainsomnia!

No idea how accurate sats from a watch are, but it is certainly possible for sats to drop that low without being terribly ill. Obstructive sleep apnoea would be one possible cause of transient desaturation. Might be worth considering if it only happens when sleeping, particularly if anyone's ever noticed you snore/breath hold. HTH.
