Private MRI

Hi I was wondering if anybody could be of any help. I have had leg pains since January alongside backpain. I'm so stressed from it and not being taken seriously by my GP that I've now been diagnosed from TMJ which I assume is from clenching my jaw at night time and grinding due to stress. I am based in London and was wondering does anybody know anywhere I can get a private MRI that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

I don't think you'll find anywhere that will just book you in for an MRI. You'll need a referral from your GP to a private consultant, who will then decide if you need an MRI and they'll put your through the system within their hospital. So at a minimum you're looking at 2 consultant appointments, one before and one to review the results, which are typically around £150 each, and if they think you need an MRI you'll be looking at £500-1000 based on my experience. Even a set of blood tests at my first consultant appointment ran into £100's. If you ring your local private hospitals they should be able to explain your options in detail and give you an idea of costs. Nuffield, Spire, Bupa and BMI healthcare are all reputable providers.

Quite a few companies do these, don’t know whether you need a referral. In London look up vista and Orion. I think vista is the cheaper
