surgical stocking query!

Hi all, I'm having a hideous varicose vein sorted in a fortnight and will have to wear a surgical stocking for a few weeks after. My question is, what are they like? What clothes can I wear over it? I don't have any trousers so wonder if I need to buy any or will my nnormal tights/skinny jeans go over them? I'm not in the least bit worried about the operation, just what I can wear afterwards!

Hi, I had to wear mine for weeks after birth and wore skinny jeans with them.
I wore black tights and a dress as well.
Couldn't not wear tights as the stocking were "American tan" and I'm super pale.

I hope its goes alright, good luck.
I did have the veins out nearly 20 years ago but I cant remember what I wore then, sorry!

If they're the same as after any operation where you might not be so mobile, then yes, you can wear anything over the top - although they come in different shades. I've had white any mum has had bottle green! (The ones I've had are like a thicker pop sock, with a hole at the end which goes under your foot, don't ask me why!)
I've no direct experience of varicose vein surgery though, so they might be thicker - if they are, just style it out until you don't have to wear them any more.

They're like a thicker than average knee length (usually white) sock

Perhaps black Lycra tights???

Your tights and skinny jeans will go over them. It's pot luck the colour you get. I've had white black and bottle green. Ask for a spare pair to wash.

Hope it goes well. I had vine removed about 10 years ago. My other leg is actually worse than the original but sadly they won't remove as apparently it's now cosmetic.

Thanks all! I’m having to pay a small fortune to have this vein done but at 41 I feel too young to have an absolutely hideous bulging monstrosity behind my knee. Every summer I long to wear short skirts and shirts but can’t take the stares and innocent rude comments from the children I teach so just wear jeans all year through or black tights! This will be my summer…
