yes it is - but then will I have to take it at this time every day? it's been sooo long (3 years) since I was on it - infact longer prob. lol.

(am taking the combined one)

best about the same time each day but ok as long as its within the same 12 hours if you see what I mean?

RibenaBerry · 07/01/2008 17:32

The important thing is that the gap between any two pills does not exceed 36 hours. So take the first one today, then take the next one tomorrow, whenever you normally would (i.e. if you would normally take it in the morning, change to that). Then you're back into a normal pattern.

nannyL · 07/01/2008 17:47

it also depend on which pill

some pills ahve to be taken within the same hour, so you cn be 1 hour late but not 12 hours late

all this stuff should be in the info book with your pills anyway

DavidTennantsMistress · 07/01/2008 18:00

( I lost that bit nannyL!) lol. will take it now and then again tomorrow - not that it's too major if it's a miss this month - not like i'll be planning any wild nights!

NannyL you are getting confused - I presume that you are thinking about the older progesterone only(POPs or mini-pills) which need to be taken within the same 3 hour window daily or can be in effective.

nannyL · 07/01/2008 19:07

i think so...

i know my friend is on it and she always tells me that she has to have it at the correct time + / - 1 hour!

RibenaBerry · 07/01/2008 20:59

Yup, that's progesterone only (or mini) pills. The combined one is fine within a 12 hour window (i.e. so long as the gap isn't longer than 36 hours you're fine).

Last time I went for a check, the nurse also told me that it doesn't hurt to miss one, provided that you've already taken 7 from the packet and there's 7 to go (i.e. you are in the middle week), but they don't put it on the guidance note in the packet because the manufactures think that's too complicated to understand!

RB you are spot on! INE some women are a bit dippy when it come to taking the pill.

DavidTennantsMistress · 07/01/2008 21:30

i'm dippy without taking the pill! lol - it's a good job it's not essential at the minute!
