Swollen eyelid from respiratory virus in 2 year old - anyone seen this?

My ds has this, gp is not worried but it looks very startling. The whole of that side of his face looks droopy, making him look like a completely different toddler on that side!

He has been quite poorly for over 2 weeks now, with chest infection, throat infection, sickness bug and now this. He is no longer my podgy baby but is positively skinny from sickness/no appetite. This latest thing is making me worry more because it's the latest in a long line of things that seem neverending, plus it's a little unnerving having your baby wake up looking like the Elephant man!

Any advice/similar experiences please?

my DS had this a handful of times, after being ill. upper and lower eyelids would swell like he had been punched in the face... it would always subside and was not infected or anything like that. hope your boy is better soon

FWIW, he is 8 now and not had this for a good 3 years

Thanks, lulumama, that's reassuring. It does look exactly like he's been punched in the eye!

Has anyone else experience of same?
