Covid experiences - help

Hi all

After 2 years of avoiding, I succumbed to covid (along with the rest of my area it seems!) today is day 8.

Day 1 - reflux & scratchy throat
Day 2-5 - heavy cold symptoms
Daub 6&7 starting to feel better
Day 8 - back to feeling crap 😢 today my HRV on my Fitbit has plummeted, I have crushing fatigue, nausea, low mood, anxiety, headache.

Have any others experienced this? I've just sat and sobbed. I am worried im getting worse not better.

Same here. All 4 of us got covid for the first time 3 weeks ago. We all felt pretty rough all way through and only just now are we beginning to feel a bit better each day. None of us felt well enough to get early release on days 5 and 6. I’ve still got lots of mucus and coughing, DH still has sinus issues and a headache that is still lingering, adult DS’s are back to work, but are really tired still. The range of symptoms is really something I’ve never experienced before, you name it between us 4 here, we’ve had it.

@Mindymomo, not happy to hear you've suffered, but it is reassuring, thank you for replying. You are right, the range of symptoms is beyond. I just want it to be over now, but realise how childish that sounds x

I'm on day 4. This is the second time I've had it. First time was before vaccinations and booster. This time round I feel so much worse. Everything aches, chesty cough, shivers/fever. I have ear and toothache too! I was naively blasé thinking that if I catch it now I will have mild symptoms.

emmathedilemma · 31/03/2022 10:17

I'm on a day 9 and I could have easily stayed in bed this morning to sleep but the cold like symptoms are less. My mood is so low, i'm not sure I'll make it through a full day of work today, i've hit the wall of isolation!

glitterelf · 31/03/2022 10:27

Day 4 here and first time I've had it the symptoms are crazy and far from mild when your bed ridden and have zero energy. I ache all over and am now experiencing insomnia even though I'm desperately tired and need to sleep. I hope everyone feels better soon Thanks

One sided sore throat Thursday night/Friday morning, gone by Friday lunchtime, escalating sinus symptoms Friday night/Saturday, gone by Sunday morning, back to normal Monday morning, finally tested negative Thursday morning.

Day 4. Feel fine now apart from extreme snottiness (sorry..tmi it's bright yellow) I had this when I had covid 4 months ago. All up to date with vaccines and booster. Just glad my chest is feeling better (asthma) sorry to those feeling unwell still.
But does anyone else have the yellow snot?
(I do apologise!)

I've basically been in bed for 9 days. Feel better today because temperature has finally come down. DH tested positive same day as me, a bit tired, worked from home throughout and went back to work day 6 with a negative test. Takes people differently. Feel better soon!

Ive just had had Covid for the first time...

day 1 & 2 slightly sore throat and ravenous
days 3-6 cold and sinus symptoms incl headache feeling gradually better
days 7-9 felt so much worse I became really emotional and @waitingforspringflowers yes! bright yellow runny nose, completely bizarre. Today...a little better I have some energy back, tomorrow hopefully I'll finally test negative...

waitingforspringflowers · 31/03/2022 21:23

@Taurus221 that's exactly how I was the first time around. This time has been slightly easier. The yellow nose crap is vile isn't it! BlushGrin. I woke myself up at half 1 this morning almost chocking from the amount of coughing I was doing. Then lay on my front and my blocked nose turned to runny so went to blow my nose and. Well yellow! BlushEnvy. Bloody vile! Hope you feel better soon!

Louisethemum · 31/03/2022 21:31

Thanks for all the replies, I could tick each and every symptom! Day 10 tomorrow so perhaps a trip out the house will lift the spirits...

Thank you and yes, it was a bit of a shock, apparently it means your body is fighting off the infection well, so a good sign! 💪🏻 @Louisethemum I hope you feel better soon. 🌸
