One massive tonsil- should I be worried? Warning - Pictures

My daughter has always had one tonsil bigger than the other. She is now 11 and has sore throats a lot. In the past, our GP has not been concerned, but she’s complaining that it hurts to breathe and swallow. It looks very uncomfortable - is it just something she’ll have to learn to live with, or should I push the issue? Thanks for any advice.

I’m nearly 50, I have one much bigger than the other. I actually assumed everyone did until very recently when I saw something on a programme mentioning it!

If her sore throat and painful breathing is really recent, has she had a covid test? It’s bound to be the first thing a dr asks!

Yep she’s always had it! It seems to be bothering her more recently though. Tested this morning and she’s negative but will keep an eye on her, she has been feeling very under the weather.
