Polypectomy tomorrow

Bit of an unusual one but I have a cervical (not uterine!) polypectomy tomorrow under general anaesthetic. They're usually done in clinic while you're awake but apparently mine is a "bleeder" so they want me asleep. I asked the consultant if they'll cauterise but she said not usually.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had similar. If they don't cauterise then how will they stop the bleeding? And what is the point of me being put to sleep if they're not going to do anything further than remove it? Or will they cauterise? I'll ask tomorrow but would just like some sort of idea before I go in.

Also not had GA before so any tips on not feeling rotten afterwards are gratefully received too! Thanks
