Ache or hurt? Potential dry socket...

Looks normal, no inflammation, I’d say it’s healing nicely

Mrsmorton · 18/03/2022 16:05

Yes it's normal for it to be sore still. Looks absolutely fine from that photo.

Ok thank you, just a dull ache really and still bruised,I got worried as it looks a bit yellow in the socket

If you think of it as surgery on a bone (a bone that's renowned for being shit at healing itself and one that's swamped with bacteria) and consider that all other bone issues have a healing time of at least 6 weeks... that might help you to consider the symptoms in context?

We (dentists) minimise the procedure so you don't worry but this also can lead to a lack of expectation management. If it starts to get worse after a week, you need to be seen. If it improves even by 1% every day, you'll be reet.

Had a few teeth extracted about 3 days ago one seems to not be closing as fast as the other sites hoping this isnt going to turn into dry socket

They look fine to me! I had a huge tooth extracted and the hole took 4 weeks to close. No dry socket. Just keep following all the advice from your dentist :)
