Terrible sleep

I suffer from terrible sleep patterns, regularly waking at 4.00 and then not going back to sleep. I work part time, so this can be difficult. I also have regular nightmares and more terrifying , sleep paralysis several times a week. I also suffer from regular hypnogogic jerks. This is ruining my life, often leading to suicidal thoughts. (Though I would never do anything harmful to myself). My GP has prescribed clonazepine for the jerks, but can anyone help? GP I spoke today recommended counselling?

Anyone have any answers.

What age are you?
I suffered similar and things improved greatly when I had 1/2 teaspoon of this in a small amount of water and knocked it back before bed.

It tastes VILE but it worked really well for me. I used to wake DH up with my jerking! I’m asking your age because once I started HRT my sleep improved so much I didn’t need the magnesium any longer.

I saw something recently about a specific magnesium for sleep, photo attached, I didn’t realise there were different kinds of magnesium & tablet form may be more palatable than the vile liquid.

It’s the sleep paralysis which is so horrible. It’s as though there is a devil in the room and which is beginning to make me too scared to go to sleep.
