Cough that goes on & on & on in almost 4 year old

Dd1 had a cold ages ago (approx 7 weeks). She then got a cough - got really yuck over Christmas - chesty, but loose and then seemed to improve. However now she's coughing at night again - sick 3 times last night. She has little appetite and is lethargic. Doesn't feel like she's got a temp and she slowly picks up during the day, but not much energy and only watching tv. Does achest infection always need a temp?

Is it time for a GP visit or will it just be a wait it out thing? She's never been to the GP!

Seems brighter today, despite being awake from 2-5am, and has eaten some breakfast. Still coughing, but not as much as yesterday ... perhaps I'll wait a bit longer before going to GP. She certainly won't be back at pre-school tomorrow. She's keen to go to docs as never been!

IT is probably two different colds. DD had this and cough lasted 6-7 weeks and dr said it was another cold most likely due to fact their immune system is low with first one. No harm in trip to drs. I take dd if unsure. Lets face it she is almost 4 and has never been, DD has been loads.

My DD has definately had the same cough for 7/8 weeks. She is a singer and is desperately worried about her voice. She got something from the first doctor that could be bought over the counter. Went to another doctor and was given antibiotic and is still not right. Has another appointment on Monday.
