Help! How can I stop being so sweaty??

First off I am not over weight so it isn’t that. I shower everyday, I wear as much cotton fibres as I can, I wear Mitchum roll on…… but IM SO SWEATY on a 15 minute walk I have just done?

It is about 9/10 degrees and very over cast. I had on jeans, a light weight jumper and a fake thin leather jacket. Perfectly fine for the current temperature for every one else.

I was not power walking, walking normal speed, but I get so sweaty!! Back of my neck, under my boobs, top half really bad bottom half not so bad. I have had to have another shower and change bra and top as it’s damp…. In normal day life I don’t get sweaty it’s only when I excercise or go for a walk. I have started to go for this short walk each morning but now I don’t want to as I’m so sweaty and I don’t understand why? This isn’t new, iv always been like this but I’m now fed up with it. When I got to the shower my body is sweaty but also cold to the touch as it is very fresh out there. If I was going to a jog yes I would expect to get sweaty but not a 15 minute walk?! Can anyone offer any help??

I am you OP - I'm not over weight and I can/do run regularly 8-10k etc but I will get sweaty walking back up the hill from school drop off (less than 1k round trip)

It's a combination of the temperature (9-10' isn't that cold but a chilly wind makes my brain think it's cold than it is) and the layers

Plus maybe a bit of peri menopause?

Basically lose a layer sooner rather than later

@Chocolateteabag thanks for replying! It’s so weird. Today I had to get in the food shop so dragging it al through the house etc… SWEATY mess! It’s so strange as I feel the cold! I’m generally a cold person so why do I get sweaty at times no one else does! I do need to find a really really light weight type of jacket

Hyperhidrosis? I have this and I hate it. Apparently you can get Botox treatment for it on your scalp (this is where mine is worse) but I expect it's very pricey

ABitOfAShitShow · 19/03/2022 00:47

I’m the same, OP.

Size 8 and while not in the best of actual health, reasonably fit in the way we’re talking about. I can often feel actual drops roll down my back and from under my boobs. And my head sweats like crazy in the bath (and to a lesser degree, at the gym). My underarms aren’t particularly troublesome though.

I am also generally cold so I’ve no idea how I could jump from that to sweaty with minimal effort! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I too was going to ask if you have hydrohydrosis OP? There are tests you can do at home to see if you have it. I too have heard of botox treatment- mainly for underarms, but I think other areas might be treatable.

Look it up online and speak to your GP to see if any treatment is available on the NHS. Privately it it certainly manageable though.

Thanks for replying everyone. I’m not sure I have hydrohydrosis as it’s not all the time, it’s only when I start mild activity? I hate the summer, I really feel the heat which is weird as I get so cold! This morning we are heading off to a lovely NT place for a walk. It’s sunny, but chilly, about 6 degrees and already worrying about what to put on as it isn’t T-shirt weather but isn’t coat weather which most normal people would be doing! My bottom half aren’t so bad, it’s my top half. I just don’t understand.

I have had a look at Botox. The trouble is it’s too big an area that I would need! My head is ok it’s arm pits and my back that is the worse and then of course all round where the bra is but I don’t want to go braless. If there were tablets, I’d take them!

Do you always wear the jacket. The fake leather would make sweat terribly

Embark · 19/03/2022 10:28

@TDCtomorrow no I don’t. This morning I had a very light weight jacket on with a thin jumper, wind chill was cold and still got sweaty… Confused

Mm that's me all out of solutions then Grin

Even a mild walk op which I do a few times a week early mornings I get warm.

I wear a sports bra a vest top and a loose thin hoody that normally gets taken off
