Stomach/bowel issues Dr call tomorrow

Hi,

I've had stomach and bowel issues for many years. It seems to be on and off, not constant. I'm not sure if it's maybe some kind of intolerance but I tend to swing between being constipated and loose/diarrhoea. Occasionally feel lethargic/wobbly feeling in my stomach, bit of cramping etc. It comes and goes - sometimes I'm fine for weeks then I'll have an episode. Also have the odd sharp pain under my ribs and a lumpy area above my belly button (dr thought that might be a hernia).

It's been playing on my mind more as my dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer a couple of years ago. About a month ago I phoned the GP and got a phone consultation so told the Dr everything. He arranged for me to get blood tests and do a stool sample. I heard nothing for weeks so chased it up, results were normal. But I'm thinking that there must be something going on, perhaps IBS or some kind of intolerance with different types of foods?

So I have another phone consultation tomorrow, I'm not sure what I should be asking for, questions to ask etc? Can anyone advise? Thanks
