Moviprep. Will I need incontinence pants?

I'm booked in for a colonoscopy on Friday afternoon and have been told to start taking the Moviprep on Thursday evening then again on Friday morning. It's my first experience of this and I'm not sure what to expect. I'm quite confident of being able to able to get to a toilet in time while I'm awake but overnight might be a different matter, was thinking incontinence pants might be a good idea just in case. What have other people's experiences been like?

I took mine at about 5 pm and was completely done by bedtime. You should be fine, but it wont harm to get some if it eases your mind.

I did, just to save my clothes just in case. The feeling of wanting to go didn't leave either even when I was empty so wearing them to and from the hospital gave a bit more confidence.

Thank you both, I think erring on the side of caution is the way to go!

I wore them too just for piece of mind more than anything else. I’ve got a pill cam endoscopy coming up next month and will do the same as I’ve got to take picolax for that 😩

Do it early enough so you can be confident it's stopped. But anything to allow you to sleep is a good thing.

Get them in, also puppy pads to put down on the floor between bed and bathroom. I started at 4.pm sachet of Picolax and four senocot.. action stations from about 5.pm to 11pm.
it eased off during the night but I had to take another sachet of picolax at 7 am.
I wore incontinence pads and put the puppy pads on any chairs I sat on and in the car on the way there. Just in case.
At the hospital the nurse put me in a side room with a toilet.
Get some Vaseline too, your rear end will feel like it’s been sandpapered.

You start taking it so that you're done by bedtime anyway - nothing leaked but I did get a very sore bum!

Get some anusol, it's very soothing. You'll want it!

canyon2000 · 15/03/2022 17:50

I've never worn them or needed them! I never get a sore bum either!

I didn't need incontinence panys. I had to drink two lots - one at 11am and one at 6pm. By the time I went to bed I was empty.
