What is this ilness

Hi, I’ve been unwell for about ten days now. It started as general cold symptoms, sore throat runny nose. A few days later achey muscles, shivering, feeling hot and cold, tired, spaced out, dizziness, also loss of taste and smell and headache. Chesty cough. I’ve done a covid test everyday since I started feeling unwell which has been negative each day. I feel horrendous and nothing seems to help I’ve tried paracetamol, Sudafed etc but doesn’t help. Every time I cough I get a splitting pain in my forehead and it hurts my head to bend down also. My jaw also hurts

My friend who works in health care had numerous negative lateral flows. She eventually asked for a pcr and it came back positive. Lateral flows aren't very reliable unfortunately, try to get a pcr.

Sounds like bog standard flu to me. It can be very unpleasant, all you can do is rest, take paracetamol (even if you don't think it is working it will probably be keeping a temperature down) and keep well hydrated.
If you get worse ring 111 or your GP.

It sounds like you could have sinusitis. If you've been unwell for 10+ days I would see the GP as you may need antibiotics.

Could be covid, flu or sinusitis. I would get a PCR.

LFT can be unreliable.

Don't send more plastic pcr test crap to landfill. Just stay inside and get well. Its a bad cold, covid, flu or similar bug.

Yep I had a negative lateral flow the day after testing positive with a PCR. Took another day to show up on a later.

Covid probably sounds like my symptoms and I’m positive although I show a negative on the nasal swab only LTF’s but positive on the the throat swab ones and PCR.
