Low vitamin b12 high folate query

Hi I was hoping for a bit of advise please. I had a repeat blood test the other day as in Dec my bloods came back showing slightly low b12. Since Dec I’ve been taking a daily b12 supplement but my repeat bloods have come back exactly the same as my December ones.(low b12 high folate) I know the dr is most likely going to say it’s within the normal range so doesn’t need looking into but I’m concerned that taking the daily b12 has done nothing at all. I’m feeling generally tired and achy and I’m sure it’s down to this. Any advice welcome

How much are you taking? B12 supplements come with huge dosage difference and there are three form of B12, maybe you need to switch which one you are taking? I take 1000 mcg of Methylcobalamin every other day, but I have seen supplement as low as 10 mcg .

How is your diet?

Thanks for the reply, I’m taking the vitabotics ultra Vit B complex that’s 50mcg (2000% EC NRV)
Diet is good - I have lots of fresh fruit and veg, eggs and dairy. Not much meat though only couple of portions per week. And no alcohol

The range in lab test doesn't represent the optimal range but is a reflection of what the lab results in your area are, so the majority of people will have a results within a range. Ranges do differ from one region/country to another based on the population tested.
The ideal level is above 300, so the double of where you are now

I tend to avoid multi vitamin and always opt for single one, so I can increase or decrease based on blood test. Buy single B12 to bring your levels up.
