Hey, has anyone used an osteopath for tmjd? And if so did it help? Have tried splints, physio etc but still having flares. Have read that osteopathy can help but don't know much about it

Yeah I did recently and it felt amazing - jaw relaxed and pain free. Honestly felt like I was floating on a cloud! But it didn't last long 😔 couple of days and pain started to gradually return. Now it's as bad as ever. £90 so can't go regularly. Maybe just as an occasional treat.

Thanks for the reply @thehighsandthelows. Sorry to hear you're suffering too, it's such a crappy (and expensive!) thing to have. Does your tmjd affect one side or both? Hypnotherapy has helped me a bit and apparently acupuncture is good too, although I've not tried it myself.

Just the right side for me. It's really bad at the moment though - hurts to eat anything that requires chewing, hurts to talk for any length of time, hurts in my ear and pretty much all down the right side of my face. Also can't open my mouth very wide 😭 I'd try anything but money is the issue. So crap isn't it.
