Food poisoning

I ate a bad meal last night I've been awake since 4am with sickness and diorrhea. I can't keep anything down at all. I feel so dehydrated, I'm so thirsty but every time I have water or the rehydration satches it comes back up.
I have chronic back pain and that's flared so badly I can't sleep because of the pain.

I'm trying to have little bit of ice as I'm just so thirsty. Is there anything else I can do? I'm miserable.

Sorry to hear you’re not well, is it definitely something you ate? Have others come down with the same thing? Just thinking it could be something like Norovirus, if so that’s highly contagious so clean like crazy when you can if you live with others.

Ice is a good idea, can you tolerate the tiniest sips of water? I’ve always found lemonade ice lollies quite good when I haven’t been able to keep anything down.

We ate different things but when I think about the food we ate I vomit. I strongly feel it was what I ate. No one else in the house is ill.

Thanks for your advice

You've got to just ride it out unfortunately. If you van get any Gaviscon down you it may help with the acid side of things.
Main thing is to try and get hydrated. Fully appreciate that's easier said than done.

Red flag would be if you are not passing urine.

Lollies?

Agree with previous poster, I'm assuming it's food poisoning from your info rather than a virus. Either way my advice still stands.

What did you eat? From where?

Arsewangry · 07/03/2022 19:42

In half term I thought me and dh had food poisoning as we both came down sick within an hour of each other. Turns out it was a bug as ds came down with it a few days later and he hasn't eaten the same as us. Just keep sipping (really small sips - no more than a teaspoon every 5 mins). It's horrible, but there's not a lot you can do other than sit it out. Bleach everything when you're up to it.

Thanks everyone. Ended up in a&e, had two drips and anti sickness plus coedine for pain. Slept most of today. What a horrid few days!
Thankfully H and son are fine
