Painful hands

Does anyone suffer from painful hands, just where the thumb meets the wrist? It's a burning stabbing feeling even at rest, I don't do anything strenuous to aggravate it.

I do. Mine is arthritis I think. Undiagnosed as I have never sought a hand diagnosis but I have a condition that makes me prone to arthritis so it’s likely.

Throbbing and stabbing are my most common descriptions.

Voltarol gel sometimes works on my hands, if it doesn’t and I need more pain relief, ibuprofen tends to help.

RSI? Carpal Tunnel? I would try alternating between hot and cold compresses to see which works best. Ibuprofen or paracetamol helps too.
