Cold for over a week

I had a cold and chesty cough for over a week, my nose won’t stop running. Anyone got an advice please?

Just wait for it to go away, which may take time (I had a bad cold for about 7 or 8 weeks last year). You don't need "advice", just patience!

Drink plenty of water
Rest
Get some fresh air

I agree you should do a Covid test.

But also the common cold generally lasts 5-7 days and it's rubbish but eventually you'll feel ok

I think it's been so long that we had a cold (or flu) that we've all forgotten what they're like!

I agree that you should take a lateral flow test, for Covid, but if it is 'just' a cold, this is perfectly normal. 'Three days coming, three days having, three days going' seems generally to be how colds work.
