DS has a little red patch/rash on his pubic fat area, and now one on his testical...any ideas?

He's 9 months and just started reaching down and playing with his penis, so at first I thought some kind of contact dermatitis, but it's been over a week now. It's a small red patch, sort of eczema looking, which improves slightly when we applied sudocream, but it hasn't resolved. Now I noticed another one on his testical.

Thinking of taking him to see his paed, but wanted to post for a little advice first. Thanks.

Might be thrush, especially if it's itchy? You can get Canestan from the chemist and will clear it up in a couple of days.

Is it bumpy? small red bumps?

Thanks; no small red bumps, just a raised red area. How would I know if it were thrush, and how would he have contracted it?

Thrush is often red and bumpy, sometimes with white spots. TBH I don't know how you contract it but it's no big deal, just bloody annoying as it starts out like nappy rash. I'm always treating it for days with Metanium to suddenly realise its thrush (again!)
