Biopsy results?

It's been over 4 weeks since I had a colonoscopy. The doctor who preformed the procedure never spoke to me afterwards. There were some findings from the colonoscopy that no one spoke to me about until last week when I got sick and my GP barely touched on it when I asked for the colonoscopy findings. The reason for the colonoscopy referral was due to fever, abdominal pain and back ache which is suspected was linked. Extensive diverticulosis was found. I was hardly told.

There was a polyp too and that was removed and sent for biopsy. I do t know of there was any other biopsies taken throughout the procedure.

I was at the doctor last week but the biopsy still isn't back.

I'm suck to my back teeth of having to nearly beg for the results for the colonoscopy test. I was hardly told that I have extensive diverticulosis. Especially last summer I was sick and it was suspected I had an infection in the gut.

What happens with biopsy results?
Are they sent back to the GP? Does the GP inform of the results?

The GP who dealt with me last year is away on maternity leave. I have every faith in the world that off she was still in the practice she would sit me down and talk to me.

The gp who is head of the practice so to speak is usually good at emailing me blood test results and 24 hour blood pressure results so I am astonished as to how she never emailed me the endoscopy report to at least notify me of my condition.

I'm very disheartened in the whole entire process how I am left to nearly beg for results.

My partner keeps saying that
'no news is good news'.

Will it be the case here. I f I don't here from anyone, I will have the all clear. It's poor form how there isn't any medical professional to tell me though.
