Massive gland on neck whenever I'm sick

Hey, whenever I am sick (as I am currently, sore throat, runny nose etc), the gland on the right side of my neck, but at the back behind my ear, becomes really huge. It never used to happen, but has done over the past year or so. It goes back down when I am well again. Do you think this is something to worry about? My husband says he's never seen it happen to anyone else. Thank you

I had something similar. I caught a cold October last year and I thought it was my gland because I had a huge lump on right side of my neck. I was referred urgently to ENT and they said it was a branchial cleft cyst, it’s something I was born with but only comes out when infected, only way to get rid of it is with surgery, had it removed few weeks ago!

Definitely get it check out just incase x

It depends what you mean by huge. If you're worried you should see your doctor, ideally when they're swollen (I know this might be easier said than done)
